An early start leaving Laos, this China motorcycle tour is about to enter China
Bright an early start, our motorcycle tour group is leaving Laos and entering China on the motorcycles. It’s a big day with paperwork and getting the motorcycles inspected by the Chinese Police satisfying them that they are road-worthy for the Chinese roads.
The Laos/ China international border crossing can be extremely busy at times. If you’re unlucky and clash with a Chinese car convoy it can take a while to cross into China, this time we’re lucky.
One day from Leaving Thailand and our motorcycle tour group is entering China, exciting times.
The Laos border control was recently upgraded and is now much quicker to cross with a motorcycle tour group.

Didn’t take long to get our motorcycle tour group cleared out of Laos, now the 1km ride to the China border entry to get our motorcycle tour group cleared into China.
Always a great feeling to get the through the Laos border on a China motorcycle tour, now to clear the riders and motorcycles into China
It’s normally pretty warm at the China border entry and the paperwork can take an hour or so for one of our large China motorcycle tour groups to finish its clearance.
We arrive at the China border, the whole motorcycle tour group clears the border at the same time, one after the other through Customs after immigration has been completed.
It takes about 9 weeks to get the paperwork approved for a China motorcycle tour. When you arrive at the China border, the riders must appear at Chinese immigration in the same order that was submitted on the initial schedule, not a big deal.
The last big step for getting this China motorcycle tour really under way. Chinese immigration is always a serious affair and a relief once it has been completed. A quick registration check at the Chinese Customs point and then we’re on our way into China
