Itinerary (China motorcycle tour into Schezuan Province):
Day 1
Chiang Mai, Thailand – Luang Namtha, Laos – 570km.
Delightful ride to the Thai/ Laos international border crossing, then a 200km ride through the Laos mountains to Luang Namtha.
We’ve done hundreds of border crossings with motorcycles and have it down to a fine art now & hassle free.
Day 2
Luang Namtha, Laos – Boten/Mengla/Jing Hong (China) – 280 km
Arrive at the Laos/ China border. Clear the customs and ride to Mengla to get Chinese number plates and driving licenses. When finished, we ride to city of Jing Hong for the night.
Leaving Laos & entering China, a really special experience on a motorcycle that wasn’t possible a few years ago.
Day 3
Jing Hong – Lincang – 430 km
Ride to Menghai, tea plantations and continue to Shuangjiang Lahu Minority town.
One of the early, unique experiences on this China motorcycle tour, is that we pass through the famous, ancient, Tea Horse & Caravan Trail & get to visit some of the most exclusive tea plantations the world has to offer.
Day 4
Lincang – Lijiang – 480 km
Ride along the lake to Lijiang, arrive in Lijiang and visit old city.
Day 5
Lijiang – Tiger Gorge – Shangri_la – 280 km
Some of the most amazing riding scenery in the world, anyone who has ridden this days ride agrees 100%!

Day 6
Rest day Shangri-La
Well worth a full day here to look around, a really special place in China.
If you join a China motorcycle tour, Shangri-La is somewhere not to be missed. A truly special place, you’ll see why it got its name.
Day 7
Shangri_la – Xiangcheng – 220 km
Ride to Derong, entering Szechuan Province, eastern Tibet, Kham region. Follow Dinchu river to Xiangcheng.

Day 8
Xiangcheng – Yajiang – 340 km
Today we climb Haizi Mounatin to Litang, heist town of China. Travel through the Yalong river and to Ganzi County. The heart of Kham region.
New territory, our China motorcycle tour enters the Yalong river valley and to Ganzi County
Day 9
Yajiang – Danba – 225 km
A small region filled with some unique, house tower, architecture. Rumor has it that the men had to be able to climb the towers where he would find the lady he would marry.
We enter the Danba region on this China motorcycle tour. The tower houses are quite a spectacle. The story goes that a man interested in a lady in the village had to be able to climb the tower to win her over!
Day 10
Danba – Hongyuan – 375 km
Ride to Hongyuan, Tibet plateau and grassland.
Our China motorcycle tour now in the eastern Tibetan region enters the nomadic grassland region. Around the Dali Lama’s birthday all internet & data services are blocked in this region due to the delicate, religious nature being so close to Tibet.
Day 11
Hongyuan – Labrang – 395 km
Entering the nomadic region of grasslands & cattle, after a brief stop in at Langmusi and a visit to the Monastery, we then finish the day in Labrang, which has one of the most sacred Tibetan, Buddhist Monasteries in China.
The vast open plains near eastern Tibet. On this China motorcycle tour, we will get to see and experience the nomadic way of life.
I couldn’t believe how special this monastery was. We make sure you catch prayer time, a truly special spiritual event.
For me, one of the highlights of this China motorcycle tour. The Labrang Monastery, on the eastern Tibetan border is one of the most special, sacred, places of worship in China. Whatever religion you are, prayer time at the Labrang Monastery is a moving experience.
The Labrang Monastery was built over 300 years ago. It is the most important Tibetan Monastery outside the Tibetan region, a great place to visit on a China motorcycle tour.
Day 12
Labrang – Songpan – 425 km
We now start to turn and loop back a different way.
From Labrang, our China motorcycle tour starts looping south in Szechuan province
Day 13
Songpan – Leshan – 450 km
After visiting the Dujiangyan Dam we will end in Leshan for the night.
Our China motorcycle tour is south bound and headed towards Yunnan province
Day 14
Leshan – Zhaotong – 410 km
Today’s ride gives us a chance to vist the Leshan Giangt Buddha, we end the day in town of Zhaotong.

Day 15
Zhaotong – Stone Forest – 420 km
We’re now near the huge city of Kunming and will finish the day near the famous stone forest.
Day 16
Stone Forest – Jianshui – 225 km
We have time to spend the morning looking around the strange and unique stone forest and then ride to Jianshui for the night.

Day 17
Jianshui – Yuanjiang – 270 km
Today on this China motorcycle tour, we will visit the famous terraced rice fields of Yunnan, China, ending up for the night in YuanJiang.

Day 18
Yuanjiang – Mohan – Luang Namtha, Laos – 530 km
A nice ride in the Red River Valley towards the China/ Laos international border crossing. We cross into Laos & spend the night in Luang Namtha, Laos, a beautiful Laos town with good food.
Day 19
Luang Namtha, Laos – Chiang Mai, Thailand – 570 km
Our last riding day, we take you on a different route back to Chiang Mai, Thailand.
