This highly sensitive region has only just opened up for Myanmar motorcycle tours.
It’s reported that there are around 50,000 “internally displaced people” in this region of Myanmar, which up until now made it a strictly no-go area. The new relaxed law, gives you the opportunity, to be one of the first foreign motorcycles to ride through this mysterious region of Myanmar. We offer a 10 day motorcycle tour that passes through this region.

10 day itinerary
Day 1 : Chiang Mai, Thailand to Tacheilek, Myanmar
A beautiful, all day ride through the mountains and curvy roads of north Thailand. We cross the border into Myanmar and spend the evening in Tacheilek, Myanmar.
Day 2 : Tacheilek, Myanmar to Taunggyi, Myanmar
Riding southwest from Tacheilek, we ride through the mountains of Shan State to its capital, Taunggyi. During the British/ Colonial rule of Myanmar, the British discovered Taunggyi & because of its elevation and cooler temperatures, it became the Capital and administrative center of the Shan States.
Day 3 : Taunggyi, Myanmar to Innlay, Myanmar
Inle Lake, one of the most beautiful places in Myanmar. The lifeblood of the region, providing so many resources for the local people. There is so much to see here, from floating villages to skillful fisherman, its really worth spending a whole day here to look around.
Day 4 : Rest day Inle Lake
Day 5 : Innlay, Myanmar to Loikaw, Myanmar
We ride south, enter Kayah State and ride to its capital, Loikaw, which historically, has been one of the most least visited regions of Myanmar because of the political sensitivity.
Some of Kayah State is still off-limits to foreigners, but now at least we get to see inside this untouched, time capsule.
Day 6 : Loikaw, Myanmar to Taungngu (Toungoo), Myanmar
We ride through Kayah State and head west to Taungngu (Toungoo), in the Bago region of Myanmar. Taungngu is famous for being Burma’s capital from 1510–1539 and 1551–1552, its major export is forestry products, teak and other hardwoods.
Day 7 : Taungngu, Myanmar to Mawlamyien (Mawlamyine), Myanmar
We head to the mouth of the Salween River and the largest city of Mon State, Myanmar – Mawlamyien (Mawlamyine). From 1826 – 1852, this was the first Colonial capital of Burma & now is the major seaport of south east Myanmar.
Day 8 : Mawlamyien (Mawlamyine), Myanmar to Myawaddy, Myanmar
Our last day in Myanmar we ride to the border town with Thailand – Myawaddy and spend the night in the bustling, border trading town. The road over the mountains in now dramaticall improved making it a fun days ride.
Day 9 : Myawaddy, Myanmar to Mae Sariang, Thailand
A quick border crossing into Thailand at Mae Sot & we ride the beautiful border road north to Mae Sariang in Thailand.
Day 9 : Mae Sarieng, Thailand to Chiang Mai, Thailand
The last day of this fabulous adventure Myanmar motorcycle tour and we ride some windey roads back to Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Tour price all inclusive of Motorcycle, fuel, hotels. Does not include Myanmar immigration Visa and lunch and evening meals/ alcohol.
