Powerful, reliable, long service intervals and quality components, the perfect combination for long motorcycle tours in Asia, without having to worry about breakdowns and servicing. We have seen many overland riders riding from Europe to Asia on these motorcycles with minimal mechanical issues validating the reliability of this machine. This is why we chose the Suzuki DRZ 400 option for our longer motorcycle tours in Asia. We have fitted longer range tanks giving fuel range of over 300km offroad so deep offroad exploring is an option. We have a Suzuki DRZ 400 with aq 440cc bore kit and a flat side carburetor for those looking for something a bit wild.
Another option we have for shorter people, for performance offroad motorcycle tours, is modified Kawasaki KLX 150 BF with a 220cc performance engine.
For shorter people, enduro motorcycles are intimidating for offroad motorcycles tours, especially in Thailand where the offroad trails often have significant gradients. With ruts its way too easy to not be able to reach the ground and that causes drops and the use of limited spare energy to get the motorcycle upright again. The new Kawasaki KLX 150 BF was released only a few months ago & we came up with the idea of an engine conversion, using quality Kawasaki parts to make the bike more powerful with a 220cc bore. The worry was reliability messing with it like this, so they had to be tested significantly. They’ve now been run hard on long days runs involving first and second gear all day and have proved to be champions, totally reliable with lots of extra grunt, ideal for shorter people.
